How to check if your device is running Windows 10 or Windows 11

Note: Microsoft will end support for Windows 10 on October 14, 2025. It is necessary to upgrade eligible computers to Windows 11 to ensure our security.

To check if your device is running Windows 10:

• Look at the Start button:

  • Windows 10: The Windows logo is on the bottom-left corner of the screen (a simple square Windows flag).

  • Windows 11: The Windows logo is in the center of the taskbar (with rounded edges).

• For an exact check:

  1. Press Windows key + R.

  2. Type winver and click OK.

  3. A popup will show your Windows version.

If your computer is already on Windows 11 (Start button in the center of the taskbar), no action is required.
