The SSO stands for Single Sign-On. It is a technology or system that allows employees and students to access multiple online platforms and services using a single login credential. SSO simplifies the login process for CMI users by eliminating the need to remember multiple usernames and passwords for different applications or websites.
First-time Users (Employees)
If you are a first-time student or employee at the college, the Admission Office or HR Department will send a list of new students or employees to the IT Department. They will then set up your SSO account. If you are a student, you can activate your account through myportal.cmi.edu. For employees, please activate your account through sso.cmi.edu.
Log into sso.cmi.edu (Employee)
- Open the Internet browser and type sso.cmi.edu
- Click “First-time User.”
- It will ask to Enter your “FirstName,” click next, then ask for your “LastName,” then click next.
- Create your new password. Enter the new password twice to confirm.
- A message will pop up indicating that note of your username. Then the link to login now or wait for 5 seconds will redirect you to the login page again.
- You can now log in to your username and the newly created password.
- Now you will be able to see the landing page for SSO Portal.
Note: Existing users that do not know their password can also use the “First-time Users to reset their login account. Just follow the same steps above.
Log in via myportal.cmi.edu (Student)
- Open the Internet browser and type myportal.cmi.edu
- Click “First-time User.”
- It will ask to Enter your “FirstName,” click next, then ask for your “LastName,” then click next.
- Create your new password. Enter the new password twice to confirm.
- A message will pop up indicating that note of your username. Then the link to login now or wait for 5 seconds will redirect you to the login page again.
- You can now log in to your username and the newly created password.
- Now you will be able to see the landing page for Unifyed Student Portal.

How to set up your account recovery?
For Employees and Student
- Open the Internet browser and type your designated portals. If a student, go to myportal.cmi.edu, and Employee shall use sso.cmi.edu
- Log in with your student or employee username and password. It will prompt you to retype your password.
- You will be redirected to Account Recovery Settings to set up your account.
- Choose security questions of your choice twice.
- After completing the two security questions, click the “submit” button to save.
- Click “Go to MyApps” to return to the login page again.
- Enter your username and password to login back to the portal.

How to use “Forget your password.
- Open the Internet browser, and type sso.cmi.edu for employees or myportal.cmi.edu for students.
- Click the “Forgot Password” link.
- Enter your “username” and click submit.
- It will prompt you to provide additional information to help you recover your password.
- You will answer two questions, and after that, you will proceed to create a new password.
- Create the password, and a successful note will prompt you. It will redirect to the login page after 5 seconds.
