The first step is submitting your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You need to be a citizen of the United States (U.S.), the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI), the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), and the Republic of Palau (PW) to be eligible for Title IV (PELL grant) funds.
Types of Financial Aid
- Federal Pell Grant (U.S. Title IV fund): Funded by the U.S. Department of Education, awarded to students who have yet to achieve their Bachelor's degree.
- Scholarships: We help students apply for RMI scholarships, FSM National and States Scholarships, etc.
- CMI work study (CWS): Students receive pay from CMI to help with educational expenses.
- CMI Employee tuition waiver: Dependents of CMI employees are eligible for a tuition waiver if Pell Grant funds do not cover all tuition and fees.
- Veterans’ benefits (G.I. Bill): We also help veterans by certifying their enrollment at CMI to receive veterans' benefits.
You MUST maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
